Inspired by the recent TEE PARTY from @northerncraft,  an event that followed on from the amazing pin drop, saw an exhibition of 11 illustrators works on t-shirts displayed @awesomemerch HQ, with live screen printing, craft fair, delish food and craft beers. The tee’s are over on the website for a very limited time so check it out.

 tee party tee's

Northern craft do a whole host of events through the year as well as regular socials, based in leeds its only a 40 min train journey away from Sheffield and if you want to be a seller they pop up dates for applications over on their Instagram page.

This got me thinking, there was a time when all I ever wanted was a really cool band tee something that said, been there done that got the t – shirt, but now we’re spoilt for choice and still I struggle to find something that’s very me, or unique. I am absolutely in love with Shop and MONOGRAM , they are bold,  logo based and on point, theyre also based in America, ouch postage. They have massive, amazing fan bases and do collaborate with smaller brands and illustrators, woop for independent’s.

there are a surprisingly large amount of tee’s created by illustrators and small printing companies all over Instagram, I think sometimes its quite easy to miss an artists product, they may only post it twice and in that time you’ve somehow managed to miss both, through all that algorithym rubbish. So what I’ve started doing is, if I love an illustrator I go straight to the link in their bio, more often than not there’s a link  to a shop and a whole host of awesome products. To make things a little easier, I’ve had a little look and popped below some illustration faves.

And then theres printing, if you want to learn the skills behind making you're own t shirt, Sheffield print club do an amazing course, they pop up courses throughout the year, but you can also get one to one tuition, not far from Sheffield train station in the city centre, and if you’re a pro already you can become a member too.

If you have artwork that you’d like to see on a t shirt then @nobrow have got a link up to the everpress shop where you can upload your work, create a campaign and have a short release life of your t shirt, where if you sell over 5 you will take a share of the takings, it’s a great way to initially see how popular a piece of merch is without spending anything other than time and your artwork.
