ABOUT LU, FROM BRAIDED GRAIN
Straw work runs deep in Luâs family. Taught by her grandmother, Jean Duffin, in the 1950s, and later by her mum Jenny, Lu continues this rare heritage craft today through workshops, markets, and bespoke commissions. Her sessions are not just about making â theyâre about preserving a story.
Once an essential part of rural life, corn dollies were crafted from the final sheaf of wheat to protect the spirit of the harvest through winter, before being returned to the earth for Spring. Today, this endangered craft offers a rare chance to slow down, connect with tradition, and create something meaningful by hand.
Leave with your own handmade pieces and the skills to continue at home.
